Strategy Reflection

The reason why I chose this literacy strategy is because it’s something that many people struggle with. In the age of what some people call the fake media, it’s important to differentiate between what’s a fact and an opinion. I think that it’s harder for middle schoolers to differentiate between the two and they are the ones that are vulnerable to getting indoctrinated in a certain way. I believe that students should be able to discern between something that can be proven and something that is a belief or judgement. Helping them understand how the difference will not only make them better students but also better humans later on in life.
